Viktoria Valenzuela is mother to six children and is married to the Chicano poet Vincent Cooper. She holds a Master of Arts/ Master of Fine Arts English literature, creative writing, and social justice from Our Lady of the Lake University.
Valenzuela is an Associate Publisher, educator, and writer who has also held space as an inaugural Zoeglossia Fellow, a Macondista, the San Antonio chapter lead of Women Who Submit, and as the organizer of 100 Thousand Poets for Change: San Antonio.
Her work is published widely in such books and collections as Puro Chicanx Writers of the 21st Century, Wordgathering, The Zoeglossia Anthology: We Are Not Your Metaphor, Raising Mothers, Poetry Bay Online Journal, and Mutha Magazine.
Her scholarship and creative writing address contemporary Chicana m(other)hood, Chicana feminism, and human rights topics.
